Ford / Mazda Workshop, Wellington, NZ

Advance Fluid Control partnered with Capital City Motors to design a comprehensive workshop fit-out for two existing buildings. The project involved transforming the buildings into efficient and functional workshops, one for Ford vehicles and the other for Mazda vehicles.

For the Ford workshop, the focus was on retrofitting the existing structure. This required careful consideration of the existing services and building structure to ensure seamless integration of the new workshop equipment. Attention to detail was crucial to avoid any disruptions to the existing operations.

The Mazda workshop, on the other hand, was predominantly a new build. It incorporated some of the existing structure while also accommodating the specific requirements of Mazda vehicles. The design ensured a smooth flow of operations while maximizing efficiency in the service bays.

One of the key aspects of the fit-out was the implementation of a piped oil reticulation system for three different oil grades. This allowed for the efficient distribution of oils to various locations within the workshops. Clean oils were stored in double-skinned TST storage tanks to meet safety regulations and were delivered through the fixed piping system, eliminating the need for manual handling and ensuring each technician had oils within easy reach.

Waste oil handling was also an integral part of the system. Both workshops were equipped with a 2000L oil storage tank, waste oil drainers, and oil drainer discharge stations. This ensured the proper disposal of waste oil and contributed to the overall efficiency and cleanliness of the workshops.

Advance Fluid Control kept future growth in mind while designing the system. The fit-out was carefully planned to accommodate the potential expansion of the business, ensuring that the workshops had the capacity to support increased demand and additional service bays.

By partnering with Advance Fluid Control, Capital City Motors was able to optimize its workshop operations for both Ford and Mazda vehicles. The comprehensive fit out provided efficient oil distribution, proper waste oil handling, and a well-designed workspace that allowed for future growth.
